The Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM) has been staged in France for 18 years. This year it was held for the third time at the Paul Armagnac race track in Nogaro, south west France, during May.Although the record was not broken this year (the winner consumed 6.14 g, equivalent to a score of 3103.9 km for one litre of petrol), two new categories of vehicle were introduced: the Urban Concept and alternative energy vehicles. Once again, METTLER TOLEDO precision balances were on hand at the finishing post.
